IGT to revive its United Kingdom subsidiary

There are many companies that form part of the online gambling industry and the complex nature of the value chain is often lost on people not familiar with the sector. It is not just a case of having companies that just set up their online casino and that is the way that this service is provided. It is all together far more complicated than that and there are many more participants than one might have initially thought. For instance, if one thinks about what it would take to set up a normal web site.

At the very least you will require a hosting service, you will need a web site designer, possible a graphic designer and a copy writing. In some instances a web developer will also be necessary to ensure that the web site has the look and feel as well as the level of functionality that you seek to achieve.

Now think about these aspects in terms of an online gambling web site and it is clear that this does not even scratch the surface when it comes to all of the organizations involved in this process. One will also need to include a platform developer who would be in charge of providing the gaming platform and then given that security is also a very necessary component on online gambling sites, this is an additional participant in the web site development process.

International Game Technology (IGT) is one of those market players that does not immediately come to mind when one thinks about the online gambling industry. The company made an announcement recently that its subsidiary in the United Kingdom is to be restored and is to focus specifically on its mobile applications for online gambling companies. This is in recognition of the fact that the mobile channel is definitely the next wave in terms of the most likely way in which players will access online gambling services.

The company has taken a long term view of the market and wants to make sure that all of the applications it provides for its clients (namely online gambling companies), will have a good return on investment. There is already increased demand for mobile applications as online casinos have realized that in order to be competitive they need to make sure that the gaming experience is just as good on the mobile channel as it would be on the normal internet medium.
